Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a gentle, non-invasive, and supportive practice that works with the body’s natural ability to regulate, restore, and rebalance.

It is often used as part of a broader approach to care, one that considers not only symptoms, but the full experience of what your body is moving through. This includes diet, lifestyle, and a holistic approach to supporting the whole body.

In Chinese medicine, transitions like perimenopause are not seen as problems to fix, but as natural shifts that require different forms of support.

This work invites you to slow down, listen to your body, and begin responding in ways that feel sustainable and supportive over time.

If you are moving through a time of change and are looking for a more supportive and connected way to care for yourself, acupuncture may be a valuable part of that process.

Pregnancy Support (by Trimester)

Pregnancy is a time of continuous change, where the body is adapting physically, emotionally, and hormonally over a relatively short period of time. Acupuncture can offer support throughout each stage of pregnancy, creating space for rest, regulation, and connection to the body as it changes.

  • This can be a time of fatigue, nausea, and adjustment. Treatments may support energy, digestion, and help the body settle into early pregnancy.

  • Often a more stable phase, though the body continues to shift. Acupuncture can support circulation, digestion, and help maintain a sense of balance as physical changes progress.

  • As the body prepares for birth, treatments may support rest, relaxation, and help ease physical discomfort as the body becomes heavier and more fatigued.

A Different Perspective

  • As the body moves closer to birth, acupuncture can be used to support preparation for labour.

Over the course of weekly appointments beginning at 35 or 36 weeks acupuncture helps support cervical ripening and softening, encouraging the body towards labour, helping the body relax, supporting natural readiness, and creating space for both physical and emotional preparation.

Some women also seek acupuncture as part of labour induction support with the guidance and approval of their birth care team.

This work is always approached gently and in alignment with your broader care.

  • Pregnancy loss can be an emotional and physical experience that is often carried quietly.

Acupuncture can offer a supportive space during this time, one that allows for rest, processing, and gentle care for the body as it recovers and repairs.

This work is not about rushing healing, but about offering steady, compassionate support as you move through your own experience.

  • Pelvic floor changes can happen gradually over time or following pregnancy, birth, or hormonal shifts.

Experiences such as leaking, pressure, or a sense of disconnection from the pelvic space are more common than many women realize, but are often not talked about.

Acupuncture can be used alongside other supportive practices to help improve awareness, circulation, and connection within the body.

This work is not about isolating one area, but about supporting the whole system including how the nervous system, breath, and core all relate to pelvic health.

  • Perimenopause and menopause are natural transitions that can affect sleep, energy, mood, and overall sense of stability in the body.

These changes can feel unpredictable and, at times, overwhelming.

Acupuncture offers a way to support the body as it adapts to shifting hormonal rhythms, helping to regulate the nervous system, improve thermoregulation, regulate the endocrine system, support rest, and bring a greater sense of balance.

This stage of life is not something to be fixed, but something to be supported with understanding and care.

  • The menstrual cycle is a reflection of the body’s overall rhythm and internal balance.

When cycles feel irregular, painful, or unpredictable, it can be a sign that the body is under stress or needing additional support.

Acupuncture can be used to support cycle regularity, ease discomfort, and help the body move toward a more stable rhythm.

For those trying to conceive, this work can also provide support by focusing on overall health, stress regulation, and creating a more supportive internal environment.

  • (Endometriosis, PCOS, Amenorrhea, Dysmenorrhea)

Conditions such as endometriosis, PCOS, absent cycles, or painful menstruation can have a significant impact on daily life.

These experiences are often complex and can feel frustrating when solutions are not straightforward.

Acupuncture offers a complementary way to support the body by looking at patterns rather than isolated symptoms, including how stress, digestion, sleep, and hormonal rhythms are all connected.

The focus is on supporting the body as a whole, helping to ease discomfort, regulate systems, and create more stability over time.
